Who We Are
About Ujima Collective
Ujima Collective provides practical, relationship-based NDIS support for people navigating mental health, disability and complex life circumstances.
We offer support coordination, psychosocial recovery coaching, working alongside participants, families and support teams to make supports clearer, more connected and easier to use in everyday life.
Our approach is grounded in respect, collaboration and real-world support — helping people feel less overwhelmed and more in control.
What Ujima Means
Ujima is a Swahili word meaning collective work and responsibility.
For us, it means no one should have to navigate life, mental health or the NDIS alone. We bring people, supports and services together so support feels more connected, practical and meaningful.
Our Story
Ujima Collective grew from Evolve Recovery Coaching. As our work expanded beyond psychosocial recovery coaching into support coordination, community connection and broader NDIS support, we wanted a name that better reflected who we had become. Ujima means collective work and responsibility. For us, it represents the belief that people should not have to navigate mental health, disability or the NDIS alone. Our name has changed, but our values remain the same — practical, respectful and relationship-based support that helps people feel more connected, confident and supported.
How We Work
At Ujima Collective, support is practical, relationship-based and grounded in real life.
We take the time to understand what is happening, what matters to you, and what support needs to look like in your day-to-day life.
We work alongside participants, families and support teams to make plans clearer, services more connected and next steps easier to take.
What We Value
Respect
Choice and control
We meet people where they are, without judgement.
We support people to make informed decisions about their own life and supports.
Connection
Practical action
We believe people do better when the right team is around them.
We focus on real steps that help life feel clearer, calmer and more manageable.
Who We Support
Ujima Collective supports NDIS participants who may be navigating mental health challenges, psychosocial disability, overwhelm, isolation, family stress, housing concerns, life transitions or complex support needs.
You do not need to have everything sorted before reaching out. That is what support is for.
